Guide to Human Rights for CEOs

The Guide to Human Rights for CEOs, developed by the WBCSD and translated and adapted in French by the association EDH, presents the action drivers and the concrete measures that leaders can take to take their company to the next level.beyond compliance and lead to a profound change in people’s lives.

In the introduction to the Guide for CEOs, dozens of business leaders from around the world call for urgent corporate leadership on human rights and send a message aimed at raising the level of respect for human rights, integrate human rights into the corporate culture, clearly define expectations with suppliers and business partners, and foster innovative collaborations with peers, governments and civil society.

Leaders play a crucial role in ensuring that human rights are taken into account in their own businesses and trade relations. To this end, the CEO Handbook highlights the steps that leaders can take to promote respect for human rights:

• Identify the most important human rights for your business;

• Push from the top;

• Communicate transparently with stakeholders;

• Collaborate beyond your comfort zone.
