Business for Human Rights Association is a forum for exchanges, work and proposals from international companies for a better integration of human rights in the policies and practices of companies through the implementation of vigilance procedures.
Born in 2006, the edh initiative was inspired by the Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR, 2003-2009). The BLIHR was created by companies with the aim of providing appropriate responses from companies to the issue of human rights. It was chaired by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The purpose of edh association is to strengthen understanding and consideration :
Its work is part of a process of continuous progress and improvement of practices: sharing of experiences and good practices, development of tools and especially training, participation in the work carried out in France or internationally on how to integrate human rights into management tools. They are now focused on the operational translation of vigilance approaches in the field of human rights.
